Peaches are a popular fruit known for their sweet aroma and juicy flavor.
There are over 100 varieties of peaches, and they are broadly divided into three categories based on their harvest season: early, middle, and late varieties.
Since the harvest period for peaches is short, the production areas and varieties change rapidly every week or so.
The main production areas for peaches are Yamanashi Prefecture, Fukushima Prefecture, and Nagano Prefecture, which together account for approximately 60% of the national peach production.

Hikawa Hakuho (early variety)
Hikawa Hakufu is an early variety that appears at the beginning of the season.
It has a beautiful round shape with a deep red color and is characterized by its juicy flavor and abundant juice.
It has a mild acidity, so it tastes sweeter than its sugar content would suggest.
It has a moderate firmness and a smooth texture with few fibers.

Hakuho (mid-season variety)
Hakuho is one of Japan's most representative peach varieties.
It is a popular variety with soft, melt-in-the-mouth flesh and plenty of sweet juice.
It has a mild acidity and a refined yet distinct sweetness.
Early Hakuho is an early variety of Hakuho, and tends to be larger and have a better taste than other varieties harvested at the same time.

Asama White Peach (mid-season variety)

With a mild acidity and high sugar content, the sweetness is particularly felt.
As it ripens, the fruit takes on a beautiful reddish hue, making it visually appealing.
The combination of its appearance, taste, and aroma makes it a high-quality variety.
Additionally, due to the difficulty of cultivation, production volumes are low, making it a rare and sought-after variety.

Kawanakajima White Peach (Late Variety)
The Kawanakajima White Peach is known as the “king of peaches” for its large size and firm texture, which makes it extremely satisfying to eat.
